Miguel Ramirez - Craftsman Designer
Miguel Ramírez (Kay Textiles) is the talented artist, designer, and craftsman who brings the brand’s visual identity to life through production. Operating from the family's workshop in Ecuador, Julio's younger brother personally manufactures the signature blankets and ponchos, ensuring that every item is infused with authentic indigenous heritage before making its way to New Zealand.
Miguel's Creative Role & Manufacturing
- The Mastermind Behind the Patterns: Miguel serves as the primary craftsmanship designer, carefully conceptualizing the intricate geometric Inca motifs and colour gradients that make Quichua blankets instantly recognizable.
- True Workshop Production: Keeping the promise of "we sell what we truly make", Miguel oversees the physical weaving and manufacturing processes in Ecuador, guaranteeing world-class, premium quality in every single stitch.
- Ethical Supply Chain: Because Miguel handles the manufacturing directly within the family circle, the business completely cuts out third-party middle companies. This maintains a 100% transparent, sustainable, and family-owned production line.
